Final Step Toward Emission-Free Urban Distribution in Amsterdam

At the Sligro Delivery Service branch in Amsterdam, work has begun on expanding the charging infrastructure to support electric trucks.

In 2023, the first so-called charging plaza with 18 charging stations was installed to accommodate the charging needs of 25 new electric trucks. Last week, preparations started for the construction of the second charging plaza, which will serve another 25 electric trucks. The first of these trucks will be delivered in April, followed by one new truck each week.

Starting mid-April, the second charging plaza at the Sligro Delivery Service branch in Amsterdam will become operational. This will bring the total number of charging stations at the site to 36, enough to charge all more than 50 electric trucks.
By mid-2024, this infrastructure will enable fully electric deliveries within Amsterdam’s city center. With this development, Sligro is well-prepared for the zero-emission zones that will come into effect in Amsterdam in 2025.
