Trading Update first quarter 2014
Sligro Food Group N.V.’s sales for the first quarter (13 weeks) of 2014 were €592 million, an increase of €3 million or 0.6% compared with sales of €589 million in the same period in 2013.
Organic sales growth was flat. The timing of the Easter holiday had an adverse effect on both food retail and foodservice sales growth which we estimate at around 1.5 percentage points. Read more in the press release.
Sligro Maastricht is open!
On Monday, March 10th mayor Onno Hoes of Maastricht opened the new Sligro Maastricht. It is the first Cash & Carry wholesale of the new generation Sligro.
Spokesman Wilco Jansen : "There will be much more market experience, like the fresh halls in Southern Europe. We have been working long on the renewed formula, we called it 'Sligro 3.0', it is the third generation Sligro. The new establishment in Maastricht is the starting point for the development of other major Sligro-stores in the Netherlands.
Opening
The opening act of mayor Onno Hoes happened at 12:45 am, in the presence of CEO Koen Slippens of Sligro Food Group. Mayor Onno Hoes : "Maastricht is a distinctly European city with a keen interest in everything to do with gastronomy. The new concept of Sligro is an asset to the city". After the official opening the visitors got a tour.

Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, March 19, 2014
The Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGM) of Sligro Food Group will be held on Wednesday, March 19th, 2014 at the offices of the Company, Corridor 11, Veghel.

Takeover of Rooswinkel concluded
The transaction concerning the takeover of the Rooswinkel Horeca Groothandel wholesale business by Sligro Food Group announced on 7 January 2014 was concluded on January 31, 2014. The Dutch Authority for Consumers & Markets (ACM) has let it be known that the acquisition does not require official clearance.
As mentioned in the press release issued by Sligro Food Group on 7 January 2014, the Rooswinkel activities will be integrated into those of Sligro Food Group during the first half of 2014, with Sligro assuming the risks and rewards of ownership as the integration progresses. Net profit 2013 Sligro Food Group: €68 million
Profit for the 2013 financial year was €68 million, down 0.9% compared with 2012. As reported on 2 January 2014, sales in 2013 were 1.3% higher at €2,498 million. Organic growth was 0.9% (excluding the effect of (changes in VAT on) tobacco products).
Market conditions in the second half of the year were worse than in the first half, with the consequence that the modest increase in profit in the first half was followed by a slight fall in the second.

The 2013 Annual report will be published on 31 January 2014. A presentation of the Full-year figures will be given today in a press conference and a meeting for analysts. Sligro Food Group to take over Horeca Totaal Sluis
Sligro Food Group N.V., Veghel, and Horeca Totaal Sluis B.V., Sluis, trading as Deli XL Horeca Totaal Sluis, announce that they expect to reach agreement on the acquisition by Sligro of all the Horeca Totaal Sluis shares.
Horeca Totaal Sluis, which generated sales of €20 million in 2013, has a staff of around 40 full-time equivalents. Read more in the press release.
